PLAY IT LOUD NYC|

"These days, there seem to be far more DJs and clubbers
open to sounds inspired by the late '70s and
early '80s. There are some superb records being released from
such labels as DFA,Speak and Rong Music."
Matt Anniss, Editor of iDJ Magazine UK
PLAY IT LOUD!

"Play It Loud!", "Play It Say It!", "We Say, Play It Say It!" are all phrases that aren't expected to have much of an impact on the masses. To club DJs, dance music enthusiasts and 12" vinyl collectors both past and present, the phrases are not only synonymous with the vinyl records and round white stickers they were printed on; they also mark an era in art, music and club culture. Like-minded DJs Henry Maldonado (Son of Sound / Speak recordings), Doug Gomez (Drrtyhaze) and Darshan Jesrani (Metro Area) pay tribute to this era with Play It Loud!
Play It Loud! is an event that celebrates New York club and art culture during its golden-area run in the 70's and late 80's. While there is certainly no shortage of disco and post-disco nostalgia-fueled gatherings these days, Gomez, Maldonado and Jesrani come together to help reinforce the musical integrity and vibe that is seemingly disappearing in New York nightlife. A celebration in honor of a lost New York art scene; Play It Loud! is a haven for the creative and supports artists in the form of galleries, showcases, musical and visual performances.
A simple white round sticker and a catch phrase, may have helped the reign of the 12" dance single at a time where the music pressed on these records still sell themselves today. The irony in this is why Darshan Jesrani, Doug Gomez and Son of Sound welcome you to Play It Loud!
